Welcome to The Vault -- a page full of some of my fun graphic design creations that, while not quite as fine-tuned as others, they hold a special place and still deserve a spotlight. These are the projects that haven't made it past the earlier design phases and don't have a built-out brand identity attached to them yet, but boast potential that I am excited to share nonetheless!
From The Vault
Poster Reimagination: Stripped Down
For this project I took on the challenge of reimagining the existing movie posters for a collection of popular films. By stripping them down to illustrative graphic representations, I tested my design abilities to maintain the key identifying components of these movies while simultaneously transforming them into reduced, yet artistic depictions of the original cinematic works.

Collage: Road Less Traveled
You could say this collage encapsulates many ideas — following your dreams, taking the road less traveled, living a boundless existence, creating memorable experiences... This was a fun project designed to tell a story by not only adding graphic components, but by taking them away as well. For this collage, I started with a single image, and then pulled it apart and pieced it back together in a collection of different visuals and design elements to create a cohesive montage that, when put together, creates a new narrative with endless space for interpretation.
Poster Design: Pingxi Sky Lantern Festival
This design project was centered around creating an event poster for a festival that takes place outside of the United States. I ultimately chose the Pingxi Sky Lantern Festival that occurs in Taiwan, and constructed a dreamy visual of the hundreds of thousands of lanterns that drift into the night sky during this famous event. On this night people are known to write their dreams and desires on these lanterns before releasing them to drift into the stars, an ethereal image I wanted to capture as the lanterns fade into the distant dusk.

Icon Creation: The Travel Set
With the design of these icons, I not only wanted to create a cohesive set of images, but invoke a feeling as well. By incorporating a limited color palette of bright hues and soft-edged lines, I sought to portray the exciting and carefree nature of travel. When you bring together color, linework, imagery and an idea, a collection of icons is all you need to go on a great adventure.
Collage: The London Eye
In this reinvented self-shot image of the London Eye, I wanted to revive the overcast metal structure with a bright narrative. I kept thinking about ferris wheels — circular and mobile. Two things that synonymously fit into this idea are the constant circular movement of time and the seasons. Based on this idea, I transformed this simple object into a ticking clock illustrating the circle of seasons (and one could add, life).
